One is Fun

So, this was my third “cake smash” session. I’ve yet to see a cake smashed. I think I’ll call these “one is fun” sessions.

She looks pretty excited, right?

Like she might just smash this beautiful creation?

Many (30-ish) minutes later…the only thing smashed is a small piece that I removed with a trusty lollipop stick.

So I realized I should just stick to what works: capturing pure cuteness.

What I Learned Today

If you’re going to invite an adorable baby girl and her lovely Mom (who happens to make cakes!) to your studio for a test cake smash session, you should probably have more than a roll of dry paper towels available for the clean-up.

Even though I was assured that she (the baker of this beautiful, giant cupcake) was not offended, I still felt a little guilty encouraging this:

Open House

As you’re meandering through the Dana Warp Mill on Sunday (making your way toward my Open House), imagine me lugging all of the STUFF that you’ll see in my studio ALL. THAT. WAY. The building is huge, and even with a trusty elevator, sloooooowly moving in has been a feat. If you haven’t been yet, you will definitely need these directions to find me: Directions to Studio.

This is what I started with:

You’ll have to come this weekend to see the casual & fun space I have created. Matilda Jane Trunk Keeper, Darci, will be there with the Serendipity collection. Michelle of Poppy & Lola Material Delights will also be there to show off some of her lovely creations. My first 25 {adult} guests will receive vouchers for a complimentary children’s studio session! There will be a raffle for some great prizes, including a whimsical 8×10 portrait frame, gift certificates to local businesses, and a complimentary Jenny Gironda Photography outdoor session {including ALL OF YOUR FULLY-EDITED DIGITAL NEGATIVES}. There will be complimentary sweets for all — including cupcakes by East End Cupcakes. Children are welcome, but feel free to come without them if you prefer. I hope to see you there!

Her mom and I have talked about doing this wedding gown session ~~100~~ ~~200~~ ~~300~~ too many times to count over the past six-ish years. I’m happy we made it happen before her own wedding.
